Alia Miller Portfolio

This portfolio is a variety of selected pictures from some tourist areas in New York City. I often travel to New York City every summer and after my first trip I took my family there I felt very familiar with the atmosphere of the City and knew exactly the places I wanted to capture, so I started to photograph my experiences.

While walking through the City I was aware of the main buildings and areas that New York City is know for, so when deciding on my pictures I chose to take photos of some buildings that I felt showed some art and character. Another factor that stuck out to me that helped create the image of New York City is the wide variety of tourists that come through, and the reactions you get from actual New Yorkers because they can tell you do not belong. I could tell by the way people dressed if they lived in New York or if they were a tourist, or even just how people walk through the City.
