Get to Know the Life of the Party

Born in Mozambique, Africa, but raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Alcinda Brubaker has always been a small town girl with big dreams. She has always been passionate about bringing people together for a good cause which is where her original vision for Thrive--an event planning company with charity partnerships--was formed. With a background in digital media, marketing, and hospitality, Alcinda plans to run her nightlife brand once she acquires her Bachelor’s in Business at Eastern Mennonite University. After graduation Alcinda plans to take Thrive to the west coast when she moves to Los Angeles, California.

Alcinda is a creative, versatile, and motivated professional with ten years of hospitality, event planning, leadership, and customer service experience with strong networking, organization, and communications skills. She's an innovative and ambitious marketing enthusiast, knowledgeable about both traditional and digital marketing strategies.

In her free time Alcinda enjoys spending time with her fiance and friends, traveling, reading a good book, streaming a film or show, or dining and shopping in Downtown Harrisonburg. Alcinda loves pop culture and everything in the entertainment industry! Her friends and family have been her inspiration for her business and nonprofit.
