Get to Know the Life of the Party

Born in Mozambique, Africa, but raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Alcinda Brubaker has always been a small town girl with big dreams. She has always been passionate about bringing people together for a good cause which is why her vision has been to start an event planning company with a charity partnership. With a background in digital media, marketing, and hospitality, Alcinda plans to run her nightlife brand, Thrive, at her own venue once she finishes her business degree at Eastern Mennonite University.

Alcinda has strong leadership, networking, and communication skills which she’s learned through various jobs, internships, and organizations as well as volunteer experiences. After graduation Alcinda plans to take Thrive to the west coast when she moves to Los Angeles.

In her free time Alcinda enjoys spending time with her fiance and friends, traveling, reading a good book, streaming a film or show, or dining and shopping in Downtown Harrisonburg. Alcinda loves pop culture and everything in the entertainment industry!Her friends and family have been her inspiration for her business and nonprofit.
