About Me

I am a photography and history major at Eastern Mennonite University. Within the photography major, I have learned how to create compelling images in various genres such as, street, studio, conservation, and macro photography. I have grown my writing ability through my history courses, learning how to create an interesting thesis and write a cohesive paper. I am continually challenged to create new concepts and projects which has improved my creativity and planning abilities. I am proficient in Adobe Lightroom Classic and have gained experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

My photographic style is primarily documentary with an end goal of creating series which tell stories to my viewers, however, I am experimenting with creating more purely aesthetic images. Through photography I have learned how to talk to people globally, such as interviewing muralists in Lithuania, and locally, documenting two musicians' creative processes in Harrisonburg, right around EMU. I have also worked with the local community to photograph Macrock, an annual music festival hosted by James Madison University, and traveled to Washington D.C. to document a political rally to raise support for Ukraine.

I first found my interest in photography while on a cross-cultural experience in Lithuania, where everyday I spent hours immersing myself in the visual world around me. My goal is always to properly tell the stories of the places I visit and the experiences I gain. More recently, I have traveled to Romania where I visited various archaeological sites, photographing the Roman ruins and learning about the Dacian culture which preceded the current nation.
