My name is Lauren Eckenroad and photography is my passion. Since I was seven, I have owned my own camera and from there my love bloomed. Looking through the camera lens the first time, I began to change from a shy child to someone who believed they had a voice. Photography may have started as my hobby, but it has fully developed into a career that I am pursuing. Currently, I am in the process of getting my photography degree from Eastern Mennonite University. My photography interests are macro, landscape, and people. I consider myself a realist and like to use natural elements to create amazing images.

I love photography. My love for photography has stemmed from a multitude of things and I can hardly take any of the credit. First, my photographic passion and skill comes from Jesus Christ my Lord. Jesus has given me my talents not to waste, but to use. Another thing that has shaped my photography talent is my family. My parents were the first people to give me a camera and without them I would never have found the thing that makes me feel free and alive. Finally, my love of photography comes from my love of life. I love the outdoors and nature, travel, and adventure. These things inspire me because I love everything about them. I love how you can capture the uniqueness of each flower petal in the prime of spring and the way you can photograph the pure joy of someone who has sunshine on their face and breeze in their hair. Photography allows me to spread my wings and fly.
