At the age of 11, I discovered photography when I first looked through the viewfinder of a DSLR camera and fell in love immediately. Using my family’s Canon Rebel, I took photographs of everything around me, honing my skills over several years of practice, reading, and trial and error. As I moved into high school, I began to market some of my landscape photography, and shortly after discovered an additional passion for portraiture.

I began my first paid photo sessions during my junior year of high school at the age of 16. My business grew as I photographed events, children, families, and seniors, and I successfully relied on my work as my sole income. I soon realized that I wanted to make a lifetime career of my photography and began looking into colleges, quickly finding my place at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I am now 18 years old, studying photography and digital media at Eastern Mennonite University with the intent to continue my passion as a portrait and fine art photographer.
