Artist’s statement

Collection of works using colors

“Color… thinks by itself, independently of the object it clothes.”- Charles Baudelaire

My design was greatly influenced by Paul Rand’s. I was fascinated by his simple but strong designs, which use primary colors and shapes. He arranged many colors in his design, but they worked well together.

I believe that color can express what I can’t explain in words. An individual color, of course, has the power to express emotion. However, it boosts people’s feeling more when a single color is properly mixed with others. When artists use several colors that don't seem to fit well together, it catches the eye. For these reasons, I love to explore a variety of different colors. Personally, I like to use primary and achromatic colors with one or two complementary colors.

Overall, in my portfolio I used a modern theme, which can be described with three adjectives: minimal, simple, and functional.
