About Me

Londen Wheeler

My name is Londen Wheeler and I am a photographer from Nelson County, Virginia. I am a sophomore at Eastern Mennonite University and is currently studying Digital Media and Communications. I enjoy sharing my life through a camera lens. I am very passionate about event and sports photography but in this site, I will showcase a little bit of everything! This past semester, I had the opportunity to intern with the Capital Area Food Bank in Wasington, DC. There, I was given many great assignments that ranged from photographing CEO’s, News-anchors, congressmen, and President Barack Obama. My goal is to work for the Washington Post or Associated Press as a photographer and travel around the world, in hopes of becoming a great photographer.

How I Got Started

When I was young, my parents bought a little Sony point-and-shoot camera. I used to always take that camera and shoot photos and even videos. When I was a freshman in high school, my grandparents bought a Nikon D5000 for themselves. They bought the camera to take pictures of my little sister and I at our sporting events. Of course, when it was time to take photos of my sister's softball games, they called me to do it. From then on, I enjoyed taking pictures and thought it was a nice hobby to partake in. Now that I'm a sophomore in college, I plan on becoming a better photographer and hopefully pursuing a great career. My dream/goal is to one day, have my pictures published in the Washington Post and hopefully move to Washington, DC to work for them as a photojournalist.
