The inspiration for this project
The Photography 1 class I took in Fall 2023, allowed me to learn more about cameras and the beauty of capturing memories. The last project we made consisted of telling a story through images, exploring an unknown culture, or getting to know someone new.
This Summer 2024 I went back to Peru. My dad giving me his old camera was all I needed to start collecting memories and carrying them everywhere. In this project, I decided to include some of my first photos made with a professional camera that I took for the class assignments and the pictures taken this summer that contain the important people in my life showing a little of my culture and identity.
The purpose of this project is to tell a story through each of these pictures, a glance at people's lives and objects' meanings. I enjoyed doing this project because it allowed me to show a piece of me.
