Wael Gamtessa is a Computer Engineering and Digital Media double-major at Eastern Mennonite University. He was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and attended the International Community School where he first showed his interest in computers and related fields. Gamtessa combines his career as a Computer Engineer with his recently found photography skills, weaving modern, compelling portraits of people and inanimate objects.
When he’s not writing about himself in the third person, Gamtessa likes to play video games, shoot hoops, and go on long drives without using the GPS. He also likes making chicken (and will challenge anyone to a chick-off).
In his spare time, Gamtessa likes to photograph homeless people, traffic signs and people who smoke. The abstractness of the raw photography with no after edits appeals to Gamtessa. He looks forward to working with people who are willing to take not-so-common pictures.
