Macson McGuigan
The camera is a powerful tool. This small light capturing box has the capacity to enhance our vision of the world around us. Through my lens, I can capture moments that are too fast for our brains to comprehend, or I can leave the shutter open to show the blurring of time. For me photography has become an addiction because I can now see the world like I never could without my camera. Photography has opened my eyes to always appreciate and search for the incredible that surrounds us. The continual search for an even more beautiful photo and a deeper understanding of our world is what drives me to always keep my camera at arm's reach.

I have photographed for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and for J&W farms, which have given me valuable experience as a photographer.

I have experience with Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. In Documentary Photography I created an ebook about Food Trucks in Harrisonburg, Virginia titled "Tasty Trucks" which is for sale at the Blurb Bookstore. In Conservation Photography I worked with 3 other peers to document the stories of landowners and biodiversity that would be impacted by the construction of the proposed Dominion Atlantic Coast Pipeline view site . After graduation I would like to pair my love of photography with my love for the environment. Currently I live in Berryville, Virginia and can be contacted at macson.mcguigan@emu.edu. You can also go to my Flickr to view my work. My name is Macson McGuigan and I am a junior at Eastern Mennonite University studying Environmental Sustainability and Digital Media. I also have a minor in photography to round out my academic studies.
