As an artist I love to capture the form and motion of real life and apply those properties to more abstract and creative pieces. I get the greatest sense of accomplishment and joy from creating strange and otherworldly things and making them seem real. My favorite examples of CGI to work off of are the new Star Trek movies, Star Wars, Transformers, and many others like them. I also greatly enjoy the Halo video game franchise, for the immersive and lifelike, yet fantastical and crazy worlds they create.
I have taken classes on Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Premier, and Dreamweaver, and I am comfortable using those programs and others like them. I also have some experience using 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Maya, and Mudbox. In high school, I helped work on a paintball documentary called Holding The Wire, which was being produced and directed by my computer teacher Mr. Diaz. I started out working on editing, but ended up switching to compositing, 3D design, and motion graphics for some of the more FX heavy scenes. I found that I enjoyed the challenge and thought process of working on Visual Effects to be more exciting than editing and from there, chose to pursue a life of work in the field of computer images and creation. I am starting my major in Digital Media at Eastern Mennonite University, and plan on utilizing all available courses in that curriculum.
