These few projects was my first step to become a better movie director.
This project is one of my top favorite amateurish short video.
This is an action sequence project and it is an enjoyable first step to something great.
The process was a little bit difficult to manage, due to the weather and due date to get things done in time.
The snow itself made the lighting and white balance a little difficult to control and understand. But it does take time for me to master the basics.
The process was well worth the effort. Especially when working with great friends and acquaintances who also enjoy filming
I know very well to take things seriously and take in all I will learn over time to fulfill my future goal.
Interviewing was a whole new mindset for me to adapt.
There were a lot of work to be done in order to capture a story from multiple people.
This was also the first time that I must prepare equipments and tools behind the camera in order to manipulate the overall mood and tone.
The equipments were a nightmare because I made a choice to carry and peice together all parts of the lights and reflectors. All equipments are very fragile as well. Fragile and very expensive.
My second interview attempt of spring 2016.
The lighting is not my favorite, at all, because of the limitations that I endured.
But this interview project must contain extra visuals to further express this woman's passion. The visuals must be more expressive, just like this woman's expressions.
This project taught me, hard, about the concept of time and availability. No matter how many question I can present for my interviewee, she also have a life to follow through with little free time.
This is a montage project.
This was an experimental project for me to grasp the idea of pace and non-linear editing.
I made my friend (he shall not be named) walk around our university for a little while. Then I made him collect a lot of books to show how much students feel about their everyday study life in some kind of humor at the end, depending on someone else's tast in humor.
The overall idea for this project was for me to create a montage that doeas not connect in a narrative/linear manner.
I failed to grasp that concept.
But this is why I make these mistakes. To learn from them.
This is my final montage project of spring 2016.
I was granted permission to enter the kitchen with only my camera. I made sure to not get in the way of most of the employees
The fogginess of the short montage video was unexpected.
This was from a camera that I hated very deep within the darkest part of my uncorruptable soul. But it ws too late for me to retake any other shots inside my university's main kitchen.
The next best part from my project was me putting together different music into one. It took time, because music is also art, for me to craft something decent.
