A World Turned Upside Down
This past Spring semester I was able to look at the world differently, actually upside down. With Covid hitting the United States many Universities had to cut their spring semester short and sent everyone home. This made classes look alot different, our world was turned around in an instant and made our daily lives not so normal. My Photo 2 experience was nothing like I imagined it, but I had an idea in mind that would play in part with what was going on in the world around us. I wanted my photos to be a visual representation of how easily something can be manipulated/changed. For those who do not know there are little crystal orbs that can add a simple twist to any photograph.
Reflection is one of the many ways photographers capture the world around them. It adds depth and variation to what many would think of a typical image. I wanted individuals to think twice when looking at my photographs. By having the inverted aspect, my project also allowed me to work with depth of field. In all of my images, the photo orb is completely in focus, while the background is not. This series project allowed me to see what can be done with the world around you. By having the world in the palm of my hand anything was possible if you were willing to take risks and explore. A photographer has endless possibilities. When you think things that are turned upside down or not going your way, just step back and realize what you are missing.
