Hello, my name is Jacob Durren, and ever since I can remember I have been around sports. My brother Ben and I used to watch baseball, basketball, and football with our dad who is a complete sports fanatic and also would introduce us to playing these sports as well. We tried soccer, baseball, and football but the sport that really stuck with us was basketball. There were countless afternoons after school that we would play pickup and one on one in our driveway and from that, I grew the confidence to try out for my school’s basketball team.
Now I do not continue to play competitive basketball at my college and have not since I left high school but I still have a love and appreciation for the game. Instead of playing, now I enjoy watching and analyzing the game of basketball and moving the pieces around in my mind. I do not claim to be an expert on the game but I do promise to report sport’s news and then share my insight, commentary, and opinions when I believe I have something important to add.
