Computer Action Rpg and Procedural Enviroment Tool

C.A.R.P.E.T. is a proceduraly generated open world RPG that attempts to create an entire world filled with loot, monsters, dungeons, and quests, as well as towns, npcs, and lands to explore. This will also be a tool that will allow players to build a world and story to the detail that they want, and let the game engine create the rest.

Overview of Town

The world will be location based with fast travel and road connections to allow the player to travel around the world. Player's will only be able to fast travel to locations they have visited, otherwise they will need to use roads. Each map location will filled with dungeons, villages, industries, ruins, and unique natrural formations. There will also be encounters of hostile, merchantile, and quest giving variations.

Player's View With Apple

Items and loot will both be premade and randomly generated, allowing for more variaty of items, while keeping the basics to an understandable handfull. After all, no need to have twenty diferent healing potions that do the exact same thing, or being flooded with iron daggers that only have slight variation in dammage statistics.

Players will be able to choose not only the race and class of their character, but also their personality. all three of these choices will influence the character's stats, abilites, and passive effects.

Inventory Exaple

The goal for the deveopment of this project is to make a game that will create a world that will contain quests, locations, an economy, and other elements of an rpg or roguelike that would be expected in a regular title. It will also include tools for adding custom items, enemies, dungeons, worlds, or quests. The world will also be separate from the character save, so you can return to a familiar world, or share it with friends.

High Resolution Image of Town

The game is inspired by classic rpg computer games such as The Elder Scrolls Arena and Daggerfall, as well as Rogue.
More recent influences include No Man's Sky, Delver, Dwarf Fortress and the Knights of Pen and Paper series.

To keep along with the roguelike roots, items which may look the same across worlds will have different effects. There will also be a permadeath mode, as well as a casual mode for people who just want to explore. Worlds will be available to send more than one character into, offering the chance to try different builds in the same world.
