Keith Bell is currently an undergraduate student at Eastern Mennonite University, pursuing a degree in Digital Media and Communications with two minors, one in English and the other in Journalism. He began his creative journey and foray into digital media his first year at EMU with minimal knowledge of anything related to the major. After diving headfirst into the world of digital art, particularly photography and videography, Keith came out the other side deeply inspired and fundamentally changed by what quickly became an outlet for his issues, interpretations of the world, and fervent imagination.
Since then, he has spent much of his time at EMU furthering his knowledge of photography and videography by taking as many related courses as possible, and taking his experiences and talents to a professional level through photographing and writing for the school newspaper, working with peers on their own respective projects, developing visual pieces for EMU’s unique rendition of Romeo and Juliet, and connecting with and learning from the local photographers at Carousel Photo and Design. Keith regularly use the Adobe creative suite in his workflow– most notably Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, and Premiere Pro– and frequently usea hia own personal endeavors as opportunities to further knowledge in all of those programs. You can view his portfolio and projects here.
Outside of school, Keith works at the Augusta County Library as a Library Aide, where he regularly designs DVD covers for items that need them and is currently working on a project that involves photographing and digitally cataloging old DVD covers for later use. Professionally, he has also worked in various positions at Food Lion, which has instilled a fearlessness and flexibility that has prepared him for the unique challenges of digital media and creation.
