I am a Marketing Major at Eastern Mennonite University. After coming into college undecided, I took classes that helped me realize marketing was right for me as a cross-section of art and business. Before EMU, I took several art classes including basic photography, drawing, and a media class where I worked with a team to create videos, podcasts, and social media posts related to our school. Through different classes in high school and at EMU I have gained skills with different programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Apple’s iMovie.

I took a class called Foundations of Design where I learned about artistic composition and developed basic painting skills. This class also gave me the opportunity to create art I was interested in and enjoyed creating. I also took a spreadsheets course which taught me how to use Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for various purposes. I believe these skills will help me wherever marketing takes me whether that is graphic design or social media marketing.
