Nathan Oostland Portfolio

All of these pieces were from Foundations of Design which I took my freshman year. I learned about how lines, shapes, space, repetition, and color all play a part in the creation of an interesting image. In each of these images is experimentation with color and how they contrast or complement each other.

The first piece was designed and painted by hand. It was a great learning experience and aided in my understanding of the complexity of hand-made art. The other pieces were made using photoshop, which had its own complexities. Creating art on the computer was fun and exciting. The ability to move individual shapes and images around allowed experimentation with composition and progressive thinking during the process.
