About Tyler Thompson
"Tyler Thompson running the 60 meter dash at Shenandoah University"I am a junior year student athlete and marketing major at Eastern Mennonite University
During my time at Eastern Mennonite University (EMU), I have obtained many skills and traits that could translate to the work field. Some of my top skills include leadership, recruiting, market research, product development, and project management. I have learned some of these skills through hands on work in classes and past employment experiences.
Growing up, I watched my mother work extremely hard and climb her way up the ladder in the world of business and management. Watching this I knew I always wanted to follow in her footsteps. During the process of watching her work over the years, I inherited her passion and interest in the fields of project management, recruiting, and market research. Because of this, it was very easy for me to get into and participate in organizations such as DECA and student leadership in High School.
Going into college, I knew I wanted to stay involved with organizations in school while pursuing my education. When it came to picking which organizations, I knew I wanted to join clubs and societies that would help me kickstart my professional career, and put me around great influences that had the same goals and aspirations as I did. This resulted in me joining The Black Student Organization as an event planner and financial organizer, The Good Business Gathering, and helping with recruiting for our schools Track and Field team. I have gained tons of real life experience through hands-on learning by not only being a marketing major in a great university business department, but also by actively participating in these organizations.
