Cooking is a new hobby that I’ve grown fond of over this past year. At first I struggled and created a mess in the kitchen each time. But, this process has taught me patience and how you can’t rush perfection. I then began to watch more cooking tutorials and ask my parents questions so I can be a better cook. Although this process can be frustrating it has made me a better person and a better cook. This new found hobby has brought me relaxation rather than stress. When the pandemic started I was forced to quarantine in my home for the safety of myself and my family. Looking back on that period it was almost a blessing and a curse, because I was able to discover a new hobby that I enjoy. Another thing that I enjoy is seeing people’s faces when they try my food for the first time.
“Cooking requires confident guesswork and improvisation—experimentation and substitution, dealing with failure and uncertainty in a creative way.” – Paul Theroux
